About Me
Currently a Master of Arts student in art history at the University of New Mexico, I received my Masters degree in Library and Information Studies from the University of Alabama in August, 2007. Combining my library and museum studies education with my love of art history, I have been the Registrar at Nedra Matteucci Galleries in Santa Fe, New Mexico since 2007. I completed internships in Santa Fe at the libraries of the Institute of American Indian Arts and the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum Research Center. I worked on a variety of projects, including setting up an ILS serials module and creating metadata for the IAIA image collection. As I was completing my MLIS degree, I worked at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln - Love Library as the Electronic Resources Associate. I also completed an internship there in the Center for Digital Scholarship in the Humanities. I worked in academic libraries for 7 years, mostly in the areas of cataloging, acquisitions, serial records, electronic resources management, and archives. My academic background also includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in English (minor in history) from the University of Nebraska. I have also done extensive volunteering and internships in museums. My interests include the organization, management, and dissemination of cultural resource collections. I have worked with and studied many aspects of metadata schemas and repositories, as well as more traditional library cataloging practices. I have also worked in reference and collection development. Ideally I will find exciting ways in which to combine my experience, academic background, and interests throughout my career. I am pursuing opportunities that combine various aspects of information management and seek collaborative relationships with other cultural heritage institutions. I think it is a very exciting time to be in the field of information management as new models of data transmission, digital resource sharing, and improved service to our patrons emerge in the forms of standardization, collaboration, and innovation.
